I trained as a physician and as an AI engineer at the same time, at Stanford, where I co-directed Stanford HealthAI and taught the Deep Learning in Medicine course. Since then I have built more than thirty AI systems across ten countries, in healthcare, pharma, private equity and government.
I am a founding partner and Head of AI at Nexian, where we build AI systems for regulated, high-stakes industries. I run a small advisory practice, Tanner AI. The work I care most about is MindTech: treating the mind as a system that can be mapped, defended and upgraded.
I am Canadian American, based in Dubai, and in London often.
The Human Mind Is Up for Grabs
September 2026, part oneA superior intelligence can now read and move a human mind. Two futures follow. One produces people who are easier to predict and steer. The other produces people who can upgrade their minds to unprecedented heights.
Medicine converted the body from inference to observation. The mind never got its instrument. It is now buildable, and nearly every incentive points at turning it against the mind it reads.
